1970 Canadian Oil Change Decal

$12.00 each

Originally required by Canadian law, this decal was added to both cars built at the Oshawa, Ontario plant and delivered to the US, as well as US built cars imported into Canada.

Typically found in the engine compartment on the passenger side inner fender, though that is not set in stone, as it has also be found on the driver’s side. Interestingly, it is installed upside down so that it could be easily read by the person leaning over the fender into the engine bay.

One of the many small details which make Oshawa built Chevelles distinctly different from their US sisters.

Surviving Example #1 Faded example found on passenger inner fender well, underneath hoses which lead to the heater box.

Surviving Example #2 Found on January 24 1970, Oshawa built Chevelle. This is the original passenger side plastic inner fender. Note that the decal is upside down from this perspective.

Surviving Example #3 Found on driver’s side of an Oshawa built L46 Chevelle. Note that decal is upside down and meant to be read from over the fender looking into the engine bay.

Similar but not the same.

Similar to the the Oshawa yellow posi sticker in the trunk, this decal underwent a number of layout changes from model year to model year. Show here is from a 1968 Pontiac Parisienne.

The version that I have reproduced was taken from a couple of surviving Oshawa built 1970 Chevelle SS396 examples. It is guaranteed correct for the 1970 model year.
